 A: All varieties are shipped with 504 SQ Ft per pallet except Empire Zoysia which is shipped in 450 SQ Ft.

A: Sod can be installed year-round as long as the sod is available. It can even be installed on frozen ground.

A: Be sure your site is prepped and ready for the sod before delivery. Determine the amount of sod needed by multiplying width by the length of the area to receive sod to determine the square footage.  Divide your result by the amount of sod per pallet to determine the number of pallets needed. A: After 24 hours the sod will begin to yellow and wither. Therefore, we recommend installing and watering your sod as soon as it is delivered.

A: Allow about an inch of water per week after rooted.
Mowing properly and frequently will enable you to leave the clippings on the lawn. Natural degradation returns nutrients to the lawn
Allow as much light as possible on the lawn. Prune trees as necessary.
Fertilize at least once a year following the specific needs of your type of turf.
Aeration reduces compaction, thatch and increases air and water at the root level. We suggest aeration at the minimum every other year.

A: Early morning or early evening usually provides less wind and heat than mid-day hours. These times also allow for more absorption because there is less chance of evaporation.

A: Many other sources are available for smaller amounts of sod. Check local nurseries and sod dealerships for availability.

A: Yes, we have a three pallet minimum. All sod is shipped from the farm to your location.  We does not have a lot for sod pickup.

A: A soil test will be necessary to analyze the exact needs of your lawn. If a soil test is not available a balanced fertilizer such as a 10-10-10 or 13-13-13 should suffice. Check prescribed rates and follow instructions on the package. We will also help with this process in our bookings!

A: Your sod needs about an inch of water per day for the first two to three weeks. NE Georgia is mostly clay or clay loam. Absorption rate in our soils is slower than many other areas. Therefore it may take longer than other areas to get the proper amount of water in the ground to allow for a healthy root system. The topsoil should be moist but not soggy. Sticking your finger between seams will give you a good idea of absorption rate.

You can estimate the amount of water supplied by your irrigation system by using a little math. Place a few flat bottom square or rectangular pans around in various places in your lawn. Let the system run about 30 minutes and check the amount of water collected in the pans. If you begin to see run-off before you collect the proper amount, cut back and water more frequently. Too much water run-off only removes the nutrients your new sod needs to establish a good root system. FAQ

A: Allow seven to ten days for firm root growth before mowing. Mow frequently (once rooted) with a sharp blade and never remove more than 1 /3 of the blade at one time.
